Recently I've tried to composite some elements in an interior rendering I did but for whatever reason I've not been able to get it work. I have done so in the past by doing the following.
If I wanted to say add in a 3D person, I'd place the person in the scene. Then so I could render the person in with the same light settings as the rest of the scene, I'd make everything in the scene bar the person have an alpha contribution of -1 and select affect alpha, and for the floor, I'd include the shadow option too.
Recently though when I tried this, doing the alpha contribution -1 made the lighting completely change, as though the person was now sitting inside as opposed to being inside. It's as though the walls were becoming transparent. Maybe this is what I've been doing all along, I just didn't notice it with an exterior rendering.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? How can I composite 3d elements in an interior scene and still have the existing lighting match?
