  • Inconsistent render errors (help!)

    Hi

    We are rendering 2 scenes at local renderfarm, both scenes are the same they just have different cameras in them. One of them renders fine, the other we are getting errors on, below is an extract from the vraylog, can post more if needed:

    Last marker is at .\src\material.cpp, line 1746: VRayMtl::shade() {2}


    V-Ray Adv 1.50.SP2 for x64

    We are running really close to the deadline and would appreciate any help.

    It is hard to know what is the problem without the scene; if you can send us the scene to vray@chaosgroup.com we might be able to figure out what is wrong.

      Just a guess, but is irradience map precalculated? If so, has it been precalcuated for each of the camera views separatly? It almost sounds like irradience map errors out for that reason.

        I have fixed the problem. Not 100% which one of the changes I made solved the issue, but I think it was down to a scene scale issue. In the end I changed the refraction of the glass from 1.52 to 1.001 and it rendered. I also optimised the scene a little more.
