  • Alpha info missing at reflections

    Hello,

I use Vray for Rhino and run in the issue, that the alpha channel dosn't show reflected objects. I have the feeling, that this could be a Vray core issue, so I ask here befor I post it to the plugin team. Maybe it's not a bug, but caused by a missing option at VfR.

I tried to render persons and objects for a composite image - attached a basic example. Shouldn't the calculation ray of the alpha go from the camera to the ground and than particulary reflected to the man?

    Regards,
    Micha

There is no easy way to implement this (and it will not be correct either). You will need to render a separate pass to get a mask for the reflections only.

    Best regards,

OK, it's not a bug, it's a standard limit. So, it's something for the wishlist - reflection of alpha channels.

I will try to find a manual workflow, like assign an emitter material (to the man), turn off GI/lights and render again.

      Thanks,
      Micha
