  • Rendering with animation prepass/ not from frame 0

I recently created a very complex animation with one contiuous camera that went through several scenes with different models and lighting solutions. There were many animatied objects (mostly cars) and i found that i had to shift the animations in each scene to start at frame 0 in order for the prepass sequence to work properly for each clip. This became quite complicated in my scenes with thousands of cars, animated focal lengths, exposure, and whatnot. What is the best way to handle this? I had a very tight deadline and was not able to test many theories.

...I hope this is the right spot for this post

What happened if the sequences did not start at frame 0?

    Best regards,

When the sequence did not start from 0, the frames had an obvioulsly wrong GI solution. When the sequence started from 0, GI was fine.

Thanks Vlado! Let me know if there is a fix or work around. We will be updating the animations somtime in the near future.
          Thanks again,

            hi
maybe it goes into a similar direction, but we had the problem that when the -activetimesegment- was smaller than the -range- we rendered out with animationprepass, the position of the camera stopped at the end of the active time segment...(nevertheless it rendered to the end of the -range-)

            maybe it helps

Thanks, but i did set the range to match the timeline and still had the problem.
