  • Question About Baking HDR Light Map (RTT)

    Hi,

    I'm Chai, and I'm a Game Developer
and baking light-maps using Render To Texture.

And using 3ds Max 9's default frame buffer,
I found that VRayRawLightingMap loses very bright colors.
And it looks like pixel-color was clamped to 0-255.

I tried to set target image format to '*.hdr' or '*.exr'
    But it had no effects.

*.hdr images were clamped one. (why? )
and *.exr images were completely black.

    So my question is:

How Can I Get a HDR image of VRayRawLightingMaps & VRayRawGlobalIlluminationMaps ?

And.... I tried using "V-Ray built-in Frame Buffer".
But it seems like that not-well-coupled with RTT dialog.

I could make only one vrimg file of the last baked object.
All objects were rendered on same frame buffer, and over-written.

Forunately that vrimg file was a valid multi-layered hdr image file that i wanted. (although for only one object.)

I may bake a light map per object serveral times. But there are hundreds of objects, and it takes too much time.

    So my question is:
How Can I Get HDR images of VRayRawLightingMaps & VRayRawGlobalIlluminationMaps ?

    Please help me.

    PS. (I'm using 3ds max 9 & V-Ray Adv RC3)

This is working fine in the most recent available versions of V-Ray (e.g. SP2).

      Best regards,
