  • VrayFur merged from other scene doesn't match

I've merged an existing carpet with a VrayFur from an existing scene, but the results don't match at all. Both scenes have the same system-units(mm).

In the original scene the bend is set to 2.4, if I change the bend to 0.006 the results start to look a little bit similar, but anything higher and all strands start to point downwards from the carpet-'emitter'.

Any idea on what's going on here?

Hi, not sure if this is a solution, but, I noticed that the fur settings will only look identical between scenes if the object the fur is attached to is also idendical. For example, take a scene with fur applied to a 20x20 plane with 100 length & width segments. Now, in one scene change the number of segments of the plane, or edit it in some significant way, and the fur acts differently. I'm only saying this from some tests, but please feel free (anyone) to give the true answer.

Edit: Seems to behave similarly to vraydisplacement mod between different scenes IMO... (the gemotry has great affect)

I'm not really sure without the scene...

Have you scaled the furred object? Would that make a difference ? Sometimes when the scale on objects has been altered a fair bit, some things start to act a bit strange - on max I mean, not vray...just thought it might be this.
