  • Rendering dialog box - missing!

    Hi All,

I am hoping someone may have the answer to what is probably a very simple question!

I am using 3ds Max Design 2009 with the latest V-Ray, and when I render a scene the renderering dialog box doesn't appear. So I don't get any infomation about the render, and most annoyingly I can't cancel a render once started.

I have searched for a menu that might have a button to turn this back on, but have been unsuccessful so far! I know this is more of a Max problem then a V-Ray one, but if someone could please help with this I would be most grateful!!

    Thanks,

    Dean.

Im not sure why that window isnt displaying, have you played around with your resolution at all ? Have you got triple head to go ?

Ive solved my problems by downloading a programme called forcewindowvisible.exe:

    http://www.compendiumdev.co.uk/force...rcedisplay.zip

This will bring up any missing windows that may be outside the display area.

Other than that, you could try resetting your max gui..

You can try this, click the render button to bring up the render dialogue (even though you can't see it) the press Alt+Space then "M" then press any of the arrow keys, the window should now be stuck to your mouse cursor just move the mouse around till you see it.

Thanks guys for your suggestions. The forcewindowvisible.exe produced the result I was looking for.

for any other who has this problem using dual monitor setup and switching to eg. an laptop back, here is a little script thats resetting the most important max windows.
