  • License over internet...medit hangs

    Hello.

I'm vray accessing the license server through the internet in my laptop.
I know the dongle could be used but sometimes I need it to stay put in the workstation.
I can authorize vray and render a scene but material edit gets really slow.

This happens even with a blank scene only with default standard materials.
As soon as I set vray as renderer switching material slot takes lots more time, in a complete scene...it (almost) hangs opening medit.

What's happening? Is this a bug?

    Thanks

Just a guess but its probally looking for a license but can't find it.
I think 1.5 SP2 has fixed the slow medit issue.
Could also be a bitmap issue where it is trying to search network/internet paths trying to find them or one huge bitmap its trying to load?

    Some thoughts

It is simply the result of V-Ray trying to obtain a license for rendering. If the connection is slow or otherwise obstructed, there may be delays in that.

Is it necessary to have all this verifications?
Is it querying for license on every material and submaterial!?!?
          It completely hangs medit.
I can put the dongle in the laptop but I'll will no longer be able to remotely open a scene in the workstation via VNC.
