  • Backburner: "[V-Ray] UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: Calling frameEnd() on render instances"

I'm going to try a bunch of things and report. This error occurs on all active rendernodes. The scene uses VRayScatter but that's not rendering for some reason, so i'll get rid of that first
    .

It was VRayScatter. I'll check that out later.

The V-Ray API has changed for SP3, so VRayScatter needs to be recompiled for it.

Duke2 did you manage to resolve this or do you have to wait forever for Icube to recompile VRayScatter?

They might prefer to wait until SP3 is officially released...

that's the "sucky" part of relying on different plugins to be compatible with each "latest" release.

We just sent a job last night using vray scatter and had the same error.

We aren't using SP3 though. We are running V-Ray Adv 1.50.SP2.

Any ideas? Would it be a memory issue?

We left all the jobs running and they eventually rendered so it's a bit confusing.

              Cheers.

andy, this error can pop up if you have vrayscatter object that isnt pathed to your proxies properly. i.e the scatter object doesnt find the proxy.

                  Thanks Jacks02

I just checked through the scatter objects and they were all pathed through to the correct proxies. One had no distribution object set so it was probably that!

I will re-render and let you know. Thanks for the advice.

PS: The render just finished with no errors so it was the fact that one of my Vray Scatter objects had no distribution object assigned!
