  • Vray DR Problem

    Hello,

I hope somebody can help me here...

My configuration: 2 computers for Rendering

workstation: at the moment win xp prof 32 bit+3dsmax 2009 service pack1+Vray 1.5SP2

slave: now windows xp prof. 64 bit with 3dsmax 2009 service pack 1 32+64 bit with both vray versions( 32,64bit) for DR

When i was on both with win xp prof everything worked fine---but now i had to reinstall the slave and i thought why not win xp 64bit--because the slave has 4 GB RAM.

pinging between the computers is no problem...everything quite normal.
Vray Spawner also works---there are no crashes.
But when rendering in DR mode the slave can t render.
Vray log says: server xxx scene loaded, starting render
??? server xxx, render completed ???

the in green: wwarning: render host xxx is not responding----

    Has anybody some advices?

We often have this problem too. Have noticed that we only have the problem with large files (200+ Mb). Small files is usually no problem. Sometime it helps to "wake-up" the renderfarm by sending a small file to rendering before sending the large file to.

                  DR Large Max Files

Has anyone else experienced problems Distribute Rendering large Max files, say +100mb? I usually don't have a problem with small files but everytime I have a large Max file none of the Render Slaves pick the job up. Any suggestions/tips/tricks??

                  Thanks in advance,

Yes, I have the same issue. Files that are typically over 100MB will not DR. No solution found on this end, perhaps XREF's.
