  • VFB = gone?

    Hello,

    I've got 1.50.SP2 / 3ds 2008 / vista ultimate 64 installed.

The other day my VFB was coming up grey with a red cross through it, then soon after it's disappeared completely and I cant get it back...

I can use the max window but as soon as i enable the vray vfb i dont get a rendered window...

    any help is much appreciated

Try out SP3 to see if that helps.

I've had the vray frame buffer disappear on SP3 too.

I've had this problem after installing SP3 now as well.

it sounds like a display driver issue rather than a vray one.

                same problem here

                Same problem here.

Generally, I didn't use the VFB because of the Gamma Setup and definitely want to use it now with SP3.

My problem occurs with XP64, max 2008, Vray SP3, Direct3D and a Geforce 8800GT with two monitors.

The VFB window does not dissappear, but loses focus, gets behind the max windows and you have to constantly click in the render progress window to see it.

In OpenGL the problem is not there. Will try later if the new drivers from NVIDIA fix this (3rd of march).

Unfortunately for the time being I am unable to fix this; I thought I had it working, but I was wrong. We are looking into it with some help from Autodesk.

                  Best regards,

                    NVIDIA driver

I installed the NVIDIA driver 182.08 (03.03.2009) and so far there are no more problems with Direct3D.

Same issue here with SP3, whit previous release I never had a similar problem.

I'm on xp64 and max design 2009; I can report that it's happening only when Material Editor window is open, if I remember to close it before rendering, it seems to work fine; little annoying indeed.

EDIT1 only to add that the old issue with the vanishing info windows is still there

                          Update:

Re-opened the file in which my VFB disappeared and its still gone. I ended up having to merge into a new file for the VFB to return with that particular project.

                          Strange...

Probably the one he is thanking Nixon about?
