I've seen this problem of the vanishing VrFB ever since I've been using Max2009. As far as I can tell it only ever happens when the material window is either opened or minimisedComment

I'm on x64 with a GeForce card.
As per my update, it turns out this was a issue with the file i was working in. When I merged into a new file the VFB returned...
I did have an issue with the VFB losing focus but that's stopped now? Not sure why...
