  • SP3: Large ambient occlusion values generate invalid colors

I don't know if this is a real bug but setting the Ambient Occlusion amount to higher than 1.0 generates a "warning: material returned overbright or invalid color" message for every object in the scene.

Rendering looks OK but i think its slowing down a little bit because of so many messages,
i had 900 warnings in my current scene.

    Testet on Max 2009 64 Bit, V-Ray 1.50.SP3, Windows Vista 64-Bit
    Reflect, repent and reboot.
    Order shall return.

Yes, you will get negative colors in that case.

What is the meaningful range of that AO value? I'm playing with now and I find the differences exremely subtle.

It should be from 0.0 to 1.0.

i gave it a go and i feel the value 1 still gives very faint AO, as sometimes one needs more pronounced AO

wouldit be too hard to incorporate more settings in this? such as fallof and distribution? Maybe for the Vray 2.0?
