  • Shading error when using 'Visible to Camera' option off

    And yet another problem, guys

After rendering objects with the Max option 'Visible to Camera' turned off, I noticed that some of the geometry was still rendered, appeared somehow black, but wasn't present in the alpha channel of the image.

Does anyone of you also encountered this problem or not?

I know I have come accross this type of problem if there are coplanar surfaces - the coplanar bits render with smudgy black even though they are not visible to the camera.

Example - 2 cubes where one face of each cube occupies the same space. If you make them invisible to the camera, you get a 'dirty' bit of render where the 2 faces join.
    Kind Regards,

Well, I just got the idea of trying out the "Secondary rays bias" option - [V-Ray:: Global Switches] rollout - by using a value of 0.001.

Dunno, but maybe this might do the trick.

You may have to increase the "Max. transparency levels" option in the Global switches rollout too.

            Done...

But even if I tend to use a value of '1000', it won't render the way I wanted it to be rendered

No idea then; I will really need the scene to be able to tell more.

...but maybe you get other renderproblems then...don´t really know about....vlado??
