  • Tiles procedural and vray refraction

    Hi guys,
I need to create curtains that have vertical stripes of silver color (metalic not transparent) and the rest of the curtain is normal whitish. I'm using tiles procedural map that comes with MAX. I'm using a combination of wide grout setting, and using only vertical tiling. The problem is that it doesn't seam to work with vray. When I change the texture color under 'tiles setup' it affects only that stripe transparency, but when I change grout it seams to change everything, not just that stripe. Is there a compatibility issue?

    thanks

I would try using the vray blend material
    Curtain mat as base
and putting your vertical tile as a mask

Will try. Thanks. Never used blend materials before, so I'll need to check it out first.

I use Tiles all the time in diffuse, bump, and reflection slots so I don't think there's a compatibilty issue. Can you post either a simple scene with the material or a screengrab of the material setup?
