  • animated slice leads to vray crash

    Hi All,

I read up a while ago about someone having a similar problem where by an animated slice modifier was crashing vray. I don't think that was ever resolved. I'm have the same problem and was wondering if anyone knew the solution or as to why this happens. I've attached my crashing scene - render the animation , it'll crash at frame 21

Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks.

I've not had a look in your scene so apologies if you've already done this, but subdivide your mesh and make sure your slice plane is on 'operate on faces' (triangle button) instead of polys. Also dont even think about capping it.
That got rid of all my problems with it.

Thanks very much for your tips. I did have a cap modifier and had the slice operating on polys. Funny enough, it wasnt those things that was crashing it. I had a vrayedgextex in the bump slot ( i was trying to simulate the water level, therefore wanted a nice beveled edge). Taking that off the bump seemed to solve the problem.
