i've been doing some tests with the vrayfastsss2 material and a slow, short animated camera..
i'm using a saved irradiance map that was generated using:
- single frame
- use camera path
- light cache single frame
- light cache use camera path
my animation is rendered using the saved vrmap with LC turned off (secondary set to none). when motion blur is disabled, there is little to no flicker in the SSS material (prepass is still at -1, so i imagine setting this higher will reduce\eliminate it).
however, when motion blur in the physical camera is enabled, the SSS material becomes very splotchy and flickery (relatively large scale flicker--looks like the paparazzi are flashing photography all over the place). is this a bug or a limitation? seems odd that motion blur would have this effect, since the motion blur itself is very subtle.
vlado?
thanks,
greg
