  • HDRI Light through the DR are bugged ?

Hi, i am set up my scene with a HDRI in my bitmap slot of a VrayLight Mat. It works perfect on local. When i render it through eh nodes, only my workstation compute the light from the HDRI. The nodes sent back a black or grey bucket.
But when i set the the link of my HDRI resource in the C:\ of each nodes, it works perfectly.
What is the prob ? Is it a bug ? I am running the SP3 64bits.

Help could be nice, at least to not waste my time on an insoluble problem.

    Thanks, T.

When i use a regular HDRI maps from MAX, it works again. So it seem to be the VrayHDRI which is not transported correctly through the DR manager.

It works fine for me. Are you sure you are using UNC paths for the HDRI, or that the file is available to your network?

I strongly recommend using UNC paths as a general rule. It's really reduced the number of DR problems I have dramatically.

hey Simmsimaging, how are you ?
So OBVIOUSLY yes.... if it wasn't the case... neither of our rendering should be good.... So it is a problem really specific to this kind of files. Maybe the size of the file, but i don't think so. We have already rendered scene with 28k length textures without any problems. I will look for deeper in the we and write more info about that odd things.

Thanks for reply by the way !

I am good - nice to see you around here

Sorry, I should have been more clear: I meant that you should be sure that you have the correct path in the VrayHDRI loader, that matches the one you used with the bitmap loader. I have often, and by mistake, used different network paths when loading images via different loaders and had the problem you are having now. Most often for me it comes from using network shortcuts in one case, and the full UNC path in others.

I have never had a DR render not work with VrayHDRI as you described though, and I use those very often.

Hope you resolve it easily regardless.

Just check in the assett browser...you can see straight away if your paths are uUNC or not.
