  • Fix for Hair&Fur crash for 3ds Max Design 2010

We found out that the V-Ray Hair&Fur integration may crash in 3ds Max 2010 Design. To avoid the crash, you can do the following:

Go to Customize > Custom UI and Defaults Switcher... and select one of the "Max" presets ("MAX.vray", "Max" etc, not a "DesignVIZ" one) and restart 3ds Max. Hair&Fur should render fine then.

It looks like one of the options in the defaults preset causes the crash, but we haven't had time to figure out which one yet.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

It will not work in "Buffer" mode, but will work in "mr prim" and "geometry" modes.

for some reason - I am trying to render a scene with Hair And Fur and if I use mrPRIM - it crashes.

I am using max design 2012 + Vray 2.40.03 (or 2.40.04 cannot recall)

How many cores do you have on your machine?

                Hi,

Tested with very simple setup and works fine for me.
                Is it scene dependent?
If yes, I would like to see the scene and investigate further.
