Update to Vray server

Iv requested and had installed sp3 by our i.t department but the server needs updating. I.t have raised the issue of backwards compatibility with sp2 and earlier which is still in use on current projects by users in our other offices. Are we going to run into problems or are we good to update the server?

the new license server also works with older VRayVersions.

just heard from i.t.:

Slight setback, the installer for sp3a (also tried just sp3) doesn't want to launch on the server - nothing happens at all after double-clicking. The old installers still seem to launch okay so it's just this new one I'm having trouble with.

any ideas?

server is apparently is 2003 latest sp.

If you are starting the installer from a network location, it might work if you copy it locally to the server machine before running it. Another possibility is to simply copy the vrlservice.exe from another successful installation of sp3a.
