  • VRaySky compared to HDRI

I am using VRay sun/sky for lighting / environment. My experience is that compared to using HDRI, the Vray sky is a lot less vivid in reflective / refractive surfaces.

A workaround for this is to make surfaces unrealistically shiny - but I do not like hacks like this to solve problems.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?

    Hi,

You can use the VRay sky for lighting, and an HDRI for reflection and then control them independant of each other.

Or you can use another vray Sky with intensity boosted up in the reflection slot.
