    spots

Did you try doing a material override? I bet your stained glass is causing them.

It only happens on objects with boolean modifier.
The material for windows colored glass is simple vray material with map in refraction slot, but it's the same even without them.
The dots are following mesh polygons exactly and thats why some of them are square shape.
I have uploaded the scene on rapidshare, here is the link:

This look like the same spots I had in one of my scene, a plane interior, here s my post:

        http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...ad.php?t=45472

I have sent the files to Vlado over 2 weeks ago, did' nt get any feedback yet.

Im still wondering what cause thoses spots, I had it in my pre-cal Irr.map.

          Are you using SP3a ?

These are the results I get with the scene you posted:

Here is the file but it is saved in 3ds Max 2010:
          file

Edit: Rendered it with your default settings and got no artifacts. Third render:

I just have down to Max 2009 in this computer. The last render (with just the region) I just opened the file you posted and hit render, and don't see the "light splotches", so it might have been resolved for SP3a.

These are the settings I used for the first two images:
