  • VRayPlane and VRayFur shaded in wireframe viewport

    Hi,

Since switching to Max 2010 I've had a problem with both VRayPlane and VRayfur objects appearing shaded in both wireframe and shaded viewport.
    See below:

This isn't usually a problem but I'm working on a file with a lot of VRayfur objects and can't see very much of the scene when I'm zoomed out as most of it is obscured by them.

    Does anyone know:
    a. How I can stop them being shaded or
    b. If I can resize them so I can see more of the scene.

    Thanks,

    Dan

Theres a quick (and dirty ) workaround, select the VRayPlane/VRayFur and under object properties check "Display as box".
The problem is that, on my system, setting them as box makes object selection a bit weird, sometimes you select a VRayPlane when you don't want to, but at least you can see what is behind.

I'm having also these shading problem, in wireframe mode some VRay objects still are displayed in white solid color. I'm using a Quadro FX 4600.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the tip. I've been setting them to 'see through' in shaded viewports so that I can see what's behind them but display as a box works in both.

It's probably something that has changed in Max rather than VRay, viewports are sooo much better in 2010 so this is a small price to pay.

I will have to check this; seems fine in 3ds Max 2009...

        Best regards,

This issue has been there for a long time; at the time we were not able to figure out why it happens - I'll make a note to look into it again.

                Best regards,
