  • Problem using backburner with 2 workstation and 1 dongle

I have two workstations running max 2009 with vray 1.5 SP3a. Both are installed as Workstation and local license as I sometimes switch the dongle between them.

But when I send out a job running Manager + Server on the workstation with the dongle installed and then run Server on the secondary workstation - the latter complains about not having a license installed - and if I then run the license server on it - it ofcourse complains about not having the WIBU key.

Right now I've "fixed" it by doing what I just wrote, but then switching the dongle to the secondary machine once the network job is running on the primary. This way the secondary machine renders as well.

But this seems a bit silly... and would torment me even more if I had more machines. And I suspect this setup will fault when Backburner completes this job and starts on the next.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

Under the "License Serve Information" you can set an alternate license server.

I added the ip of the primary workstation into the license server on the seconday (slave) machine and it works like a charm - Thanks!
