  • VrayVelocity Problem with objects close to a moving camera

    hi guys,

I am experiencing a problem getting out vrayVelocity pass with objects that has close proximity to the camera. Did anyone experience this and can shed some light to what I am possibly doing wrong?

    - VrayPhyCam Clipping "On" {turning this off does not seem to affect the outcome}
    - Near set to "0m"

Attached are images that illustrate the problem.

    warmest regards,
    Jung

what is the vray version? also it looks like your actual renders have motion blur in them already?

          Vray1.5 SP2 - upgarding to 1.5 SP3 is not an option currently.

Sorry I have posted up a comped renders using RSMB Pro 3.X .. not the raw renders.

The near clipping value in the vrayPhyCam does not seem to affect the problem... unless set to a negative value.. which works.. but also at the same time produces results that is not wanted. (ie. seeing the backside of adjacent wall etc)

I would need a scene for this; you can send it to vlado@chaosgroup.com so that I can take a look at what may be wrong.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

for now as a temp solution you may want to try mental ray la maison lm2dmv shader. It can provide a solid motion vector alternative. However it wont work if you have things like displacement or vray specific objects which cant be rendered in mr.

Righto.. thanks for the suggestion Morbid Angel, but that is also not an option as we have numbers of vrayProxies across the scene.

Vlado, I've sent you an email with the max file attached. Did you receive it by any chance?

It was a precision issue; some number ended up being too small and V-Ray ignored it.

                              Vlado,
how did you solve the problem ?

i have the same situation, i have a scene where i am close to the objects (system unit is Meters, and display unit is mm.)

                              Thanks
