  • VRay Light and new shading system

When using standard lights viewport is ok, but VRayLight I think for its rectangullar manner is so overexposed in viewport. I know, this is it for a long time, but I think now is time to correct that, isnt it ? Or miss I something ?

I like new shading system in 3ds max 2010, but VRayLights so much light the viewport through that render is ok.

Yep, improvements to the viewport representation of the V-Ray lights are planned for the next version.

What's the point of worrying about 3ds max viewport shading when Vray RT makes all this obsolete???

I buyed VRay RT, but you cannot model in VRay RT. And I like modeling in perspective window and it looks awful when all objects is completelly white and selecting is problematic too.

I am wondering if there is a way to make F3 use Flat or Hidden Line by default rather than smooth&highlights. Would be great for modeling...I'm feeling it's very inefficient to always go from wireframe, to smooth & highlight, then having to right click and choose flat or hidden line...sorry to get a bit OT...

I'm using Ctrl+F3, Alt+F3 and Shift+F3, to access the different modes I use. I keep the F3 key as it is, but create new keyboard shortcut for the other modes. Bounding box is also usefull for quick moving around.
