I have a model which has a few planer faces separated by edges. When I apply a vrayedges texture to the bump to get a fillet effect I works fine.
When I put the vrayedges texture in a vray comp texture to break up the edge with noise those edges between the planer faces appear. I'm using a minimum operation where vrayedges is "a" and noise is "b".
since edit poly has no hide edges ability (in max 2009 afaik) the only way I can get rid of the unwanted edges is to put an edit mesh on it and hide them. Then the renders are fine.
