  • spotlight Vrayshadow problem

    Hi,

Not sure if this is a bug, but I have a scene where I am using a "headlight" of a motobike.
For this headlight I'm using a spotlight with these params:
    mult:3.0
    Decay: inv sq
Projector map (does not affect outcome of the problem)

Now the problem is when I turn on vray motionblur, the light that is normally cast is no longer visible. This is with VrayShadow turned on. When Vrayshadow is turned off the light renders normally (no object is in the way).

Is there a reason this is happening?

Also thought I should mention that if you select VrayShadowMap under this scenario, it crashes the whole program (instead of just a warning).

    My system: 3ds max 2010 sp1.
    Vray 1.5sp3a
    Gamma 2.2

Even stranger... I just set up a new scene with just a plane, spotlight pointed down and a red cube, both animated over 5-10 frames to move left/right.
The cube blurs but the lightsource does not (duration of mblur can be 1-5), also leaving vrayshadows on still renders the spotlight unlike my main cinematics scene.

Am I doing something I'm not supposed to?
Using a vray light (plane) behaves correctly with motion blur in the same scene however the "use texture" option isnt working very well... I want the light to cast "rings" like a light in a reflector/headlight effect.

Something is telling me that spotlights are broken with mblur. As a final test I tried to use a photometric light and it also does not mblur.

    Thanks
