  • Cannot add or delete Render Elements

Title pretty much sums it up. I have a file right now that has three render elements in it: a multimatte, and two z-depths. I can click add or delete to change the list but as soon as I save (which also happens on any render) the list reverts back to what I had before with the three elements. I can change the values of each render element and those numbers stay after a save. I've tried resetting vray by changing the default render to scanline and back again but that doesn't change anything. Any ideas? I can't really merge everything into a new scene since the main building is a linked autocad file.

    I'm working in Max 9, x64 on SP3.

odd...make sure there is no saved preset thats some how is loaded. I suppose try to merge just to see if it solves the problem.

Yep, I also thought it may have something to do with render presets.

      Best regards,

I finally tracked this one down. I started deleting everything in the scene in small groups and once I deleted all of the cameras everything saved correctly. I ended up deleting everything in the scene, no layers, geometry, render elements, etc and it would save fine. If I put a new camera back in the scene and saved those three RE would pop back in. The culprit, RPManager. The scene I was working on was a reuse from an earlier project that did have some RPManager stuff in it and I think it didn't like that I had deleted the cameras used in the individual passes. Once I deleted all of the RPM data everything's OK now.

        Thanks for the suggestions though.
