  • Gamma issues

When i apply gamma of 2.2 images look washed out.

I adjust gamma in max's preferences to 2.2, and bitap input gamma to 2.2.
then i set gamma in max colour mapping to 2.2

Works well for brightening interiors, but they also sometimes appear washed out.
I could adjust cam settings, but I'm not sure if i'm going about it the right way.

The first image looks, good, but a little dark.

try turning on "dont affect colours"
Also are you using sRGB in your VRay frame buffer?

plus you need to tweak procedurals, color swatches and lights. LWF is not a matter of turning on gamma in old scenes.

        Great! Thanks jacksc01!
I turned on "dont affect colours" and that helped.
Have been using lwf for a while, but hasn't been quite right, just been using other work-arounds to compensate.
Thanks for reply Thorsten, yeah, i've noticed that sometimes maps come through differently depending on their gamma etc, and reading an article on displacement maps etc. sometimes coming through differently.
        Nice one. thanks
