  • Missing maps on vray proxies

    What i do :

Made a tree with correct textures and mapping.
Tree is made of 2 objects trunk a leaves. No multisub mats.
Rendering with DR works, all maps load perfectly.

Then i make a vraymesh with "export selected objects in a seperate file"
with auto create proxie on. So i have 2 vraymesh files. But as soon i hit render after creating the vraymeshes is get the msg : missing maps found; aborting render on the slave.

Strange thing is, even when i delete all textures and apply a standard grey material on the vraymesh tree it still aborts the rendering on the slave saying maps are missing although there are no maps anymore in the scene.

I've tried this with different trees and always got the same result

My network is working perfectly, DR (as a service) is working fine, even with large scenes (5.000.000 polies).

All computers are xp 64bit with max9 - Vray 1.50SP3a.

Did search the forum but couldnt find anything about this.

    Thanks for any help ...

V-Ray will also display this message if proxy objects or photometric files are missing.

    Best regards,

      Thanks for the quick reaction.

Since i build these models in an empty scene for creating a 3D library there where no hdri's or photometric files in it.

But after checking everything and double checking i found the problem :
All the bitmaps are saved on a central server using UNC, so this was not the problem but the mapping for the mesh-proxies was not UNC.

Man o man, am i happy now .
Was almost getting nuts about it ....
And almost switched to standard xrefs since the base models without proxies renderd fine on all nodes.

      Cheers
