  • Colours different animation vs still

As you can see above, the top frame is rendered as a still frame with DR (ir map single frame medium animation and LC single frame), it is nice and colourful.

The bottom is rendered pre pass animation (medium animation) first with lc single frame then final pass ir animation mode with no lc in backburner as an animation with moving objects.

any ideas why the second image is so dull?

Most objects are vray proxies, including unaffected things like the roof tiles.
in case your wondering why there is slight differences in the frame besides colour, one is frame 0 one is frame 1.

interesting, do the frames look the same if you render with brute force? if they do, then there is something odd in the precalculated gi maps.

Ill test that out and ill test out some quality settings with the GI Ir It might be a quality issue.

i've been unable to resolve this issue for some reason animation pre pass and render mode ir maps for animation with moving objects gives dull colour output.

I turned off detail enhancement on the ir map and i turned on use camera path, on the ir and lc modes and the problem is gone.... however there is now more flickering in the animation itself.

Ill next isolate if its detail enhancement or if its use camera path mode that is the problem.

I have not tried brute force but I'm pretty confident it would render correctly! It takes a couple days to turn around 100frames to test so ill get back later!

seems like the problem was caused by detail enhancement on the IR map.
