  • Artifacts through glass

    Hi, Strange problem here. http://yfrog.com/1xglassj
I'm getting some strange blotching through my glass material.
    I'm using LC 1000 samples
    IR map high setting.
1 vray dome light with store with irmap checked and set to invisible.
    some vray ies lights elswhere
glass has affect shadows checked, fresnel reflections.
Vray environment has a HDRI in the refract/reflect overide.
The glass object is an AEC railing but i checked with a box and I get the same artifacts.
Any ideas or help on this one?
    Cheers

Ok so I deleted the vray dome light and replaced with a white environment.....Problem solved!
never had a problem with the dome light before though????

It might be because of the different reflect/refract override; it might also be because of low refraction depth. Does it go away if you do not store the dome light into the irradiance map?

      Best regards,
      Vlado

Hi Vlado, Things I tried but did not work were:
Switching off the vray IES lights
Increasing the refraction depth of the glass
Not storing the IR map with the Dome light.
I also got rid of any overides in the Vray environment.
Merging the scene into a fresh one.
Ensuring there were no standard or other materials in the scene
        Physical camera / max camera

The instant fix was getting rid of the dome light and using a white environment. But for some reason it was the last thing i tried! Oh well, back on track now!
        Thanks
