  • DR Buckets Different Brightness?

I am DR Rendering a large image. As per usual discussions my network is set up properly. I have checked UNC paths, the decimal ,.,., problem in region settings, there are no missing maps reported by vray, but I am getting different shades in my Buckets. My Core i7 is producing bright buckets and my dual E5320 is producing dark buckets. This does'nt happen on every scene just the paticular one I am working on at the moment. I have even copied both scenes/files/maps to both machines in the same folder on C: but still the problem persists.

    Any Ideas?

Yeah. I am using x64 Vista Business on the Xeons and Windows 7 on the core. I just applied one single vray material to the whole scene and merged it into a new one. Using vray Sun/Sky and Physical camera I am still getting the same issue.

Have you tried merging your scene into a new scene. Also try selecting scanline renderer and then back to vray to reset everything...do you have the same versions of vray and max (updated) on all machines ? These are things I would check...they may not help at all

No guesses but have you tried rendering the scene locally on each machine with no DR, maybe through backburner? How do/would the rendered images compare? This will at least give you an idea if it's a DR problem or something local to each machine's setting/setup.

Thanks for all these guys. I will look into each one and report back has this seems to be a common problem. Its definatly user error.

                        System user

                        Hi,

Check if the DR Spawner is running as a System User, in the task manager. If it does, change the DR start up from automatic to manuell in Windows administration tools. Then restart the DR Spawner. We had the same problem and we solved it by doing like this.
