  • Alpha problem...

Just looking for some help with alpha channels with Vray. I'm sure there's something really simple I've done wrong, but I'm stuck...

The picture shows what's happening. The alpha on the tree branches is affecting the alpha of the output image, regardless of what objects are behind them. When I composite the frames to an animation, I get a strange halo effect where it appears the alpha isn't completely transparent, but the transparent image effect as in the first image is not apparent.....

I'm using Photoshop and Premier Pro for the image manipulation...

Looks like there are double faces on the leaves; in that case just increase the secondary rays bias to something like 0.001. Increasing the max. transparent levels in the V-Ray global switches rollout might also help.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

I set the max. transparent levels to 50 and the secondary ray bias to 0.002 and it's fixed the problem.

        Thanks for the help.
