  • New video card - slower renderings

My 8600 GTS finally diead and I was excited to replace it. Bought a GTS 250 and everything is much better with it. I can fly around scenes with lots of trees that used to get bogged down. The only problem I have is that my render times went way up. The light cache and IR map seem to calculate much faster. But the actual final render takes about 4 times as long as it used to! Tested an old model where I used the default max scanline renderer and it seemed faster than before. So why is VRAY rendering so much slower now? Is there some setting I need to change somewhere to compensate for something?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
You may as well be doing something while you're doing nothing.

Currently VRay does not use the graphic card for doing it's rendering calculations, the slowdown must have another reason.

Jujubee recently warned about a driver issue with nvidia cards, maybe you could check that:
