I have a vrayLightMaterial with a falloff map set to distance blend (I've tried both z-camera and object ). When rendering on my farm 2 machines are producing different results for this material; both in backburner render and DR. I have confirmed that the machines have the latest service packs for max and vray installed, and all the necessary plugins. I cannot for the life of me work out what is causing the problem.
Is this a know problem with max/vray ? I know I can just render the scene out on the working nodes, but the fact that I can't work out what might be the cause is unsettling me!
One issue could be that the near and far distances are defined by an expression that takes the distance from the origin to a dummy position and then adds a value.
Another issue could be the fact the objects have a path deform WSM modifier and are grouped before being scaled...... so the rendernodes might be miscalculating the distances depending on whether the objects scale has been used or not.
This is really doing my head in! Any suggestions ?
If this is a non-vray issue, please move this to the offtopic forum.
Thanks!
