  • Rendering vertex color in Vray

I have set up a Pflow system with instanced geometry that is colorized using vertex color.

It renders fine in scanline, but unfortunately not in Vray?

I have tried both standard and vray materials with the vertex color map in diffuse, but still only get black particles..

Hm, can you post I scene for this? I remember this was working at some point. Also which version of V-Ray is this?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

The scene can be downloaded here http://rapidshare.com/files/35424193...COLOR_PROB.rar

Max 2010 x64 and Vray 1.5sp4a.. Scene uses a Krakatoa PRT loader and PFlow...

          Hi Vlado,

The pflow stuff is basic, and is included in 3dsmax.. You actually only need the krakatoa demo - download it here:

          http://software.primefocusworld.com/...atoa/download/

You will need to repath the PRT loader to point at the test_2_0002.prt thats included in the zip.

          Thanks,

          Martin

              Hi,

Any chance of an update on this situation? We are stuck with scanline for our kraka pflow renders

              Best Regards,

if the next update takes longer than 2 months it would be very nice to have--

working on my bachelor thesis the next months and i am working with lots of colored particles

would be a shame to rely on scanline!
