  • glass material/object issues with DR

    Hi!

Im having problems with a couple of wine glasses using DR.

Take a look at these two pics below - the one rendered on the workstation looks fine, but the DR version has jagged reflections/refractions. I havent changed anything between the two renders except for selecting "distributed rendering".

I have had issues with smoothed/chamfered objects rendering unsmoothed/unchamfered on the slave before, not sure if its related.

The glass-object is an edit-poly object, the glass material is a basic vray material with fresnel reflections and IOR 1.56 refractions. No maps.

Im using MAX 9.0 (I know! Its high time for an upgrade) and use Vray 1.5 Sp3

The rest of the scene renders fine, both on workstation and on the rendernode/dr.

    Any ideas?

    /Kalle

Not sure why it happens, but you can try collapsing the glass geometry to editable mesh and see if it helps.

sorry for the late reply - been away on holiday...

Collapsing to an edit poly doesnt fix it... I just tried sending the scene through backburner and got the same result, so its not a DR issue. Well not exactly the same result - the whole glass was now jagged, so its the slave that renders it wrong. The material has no maps or anything so I have no idea whats causing this...

      any ideas?
