  • New Particle Age problem

I'm still having some troubles with particle age... I'm assuming it's user error in the way I've setup the pflow, but I just wanted to check it wasn't a vray issue...

You can see my setup here.Click image for larger version

Basically, my particles are born over a range of frames, and then I wan't them to be deleted after 322 frames.
The particles are assigned a Material Dynamic vray material with Particle Age in the opacity slot with colours assigned to produce a smooth fade-in.

The result I get is quite strange, a few particles appear with the expected smooth fade-in, but others pop-in to visibility without the correct smooth transition from transparent. It might be that the particle age map is actually taking the event-age instead of the particle age....

Is this a known problem ? Is there a work around ? or have I just setup my material and pflow wrong?!

    Thanks for any suggestions/help.
    p.

Ok, as expected, this a limitation of max... you need to switch on "assign material ID" which will mess up the material ID's applied to my particles ......
