  • vraylightmtl as base material of vrayblendmtl does not emit light

    Hello,

is it normal that a vraylightmtl (with direct illum ON) does not emit light when placed as part of a vrayblendmtl ?

    thanks

It is normal, yes. It's noted in the help index as well - the direct illumination feature will only work if the VRayLightMtl material is directly applied on an object.

      hi Vlado,
any plan to update it or that's it?
the same happens with multisub material and to me it doesn't seem to be a good idea; I thought that it was only a temporary limitation of that features but maybe I'm wrong and it's by design

We will work on the multi/sub-object material, but it is much more complicated for the blend material.

fine, good to know; my main concern was about the multi/sub
