  • Real camera to VRay Camera ?

There have been a few threads about this but the solution given hasn't ever worked for me. If I have an image with the following EXIF data:

    Code:
    Focal length - 7.4
    Exposure Time - 1/640
    F-Number - 4.0
    ISO - 80
..and dpreview.com says my camera has these characteristics:

    Code:
    Sensor size - 1/1.7 " (7.60 x 5.70 mm, 0.43 cm²)
As I understand it, this converts to a VRay Camera with the following:
    Code:
    Film Gate - 43mm
    Focal Length - 7.4mm
    F-Number - 4.0
    Shutter Speed - 640
    ISO - 80
However this results in an awfully wide and distorted VRay Camera. What am I getting wrong? As much as I love eyeballing it, VRay Camera is meant to be physically based and thus i'm sure there is a way of converting from a real camera to a VRay Camera!

Here is the photo with EXIF in-tact:

Your film gate should be 7.6mm.
