  • Strange Atrifacts with Sweep Command.

Hello all please see Attached, not sure if this is a non vray problem, but when i use the sweep command on a spline the materials render some strange artifacts. Any idea why this happens ?

    Any help is appreciated.

Splotches can come from a number of GI-related concerns of course, but if you think this is a geometry issue, you might try upping the overall polygon resolution of the sweep to see if that makes any difference at all. I ran into this a couple of times over the years and this fixed it...

You could also try the LOFT object to do the same thing & it also has a lot more control with more parameters as well.

Do you have a texture on it as well???

Yes i have a texture on it. But its a flat white with slight bump. Nothing that i would see would affect the splotches. I tried the loft command but i found changing the axis and offseting was far easier on the sweep mod.... Oh well ill go back to the loft mod.

Just in case anyone finds this useful, i found this older thread that fixed the splotchiness and noise problems with loft. I had the same problem with the sweep command so i started using the loft command little to find that i had the same issue with the noise problems. This threads shows how to get rid of them.
