  • Invisible VrayLights in EnvironmentFog is a problem.

When using VrayLights with EnvironmentFog I would like the ability to fully exclude the lights from atmospherics.

Like in the attached image I'm using a VrayLight to only lighten my character, but as you see it interferes with my fog.

I can't uncheck "Apply atmospherics" in the Object Properties, since it's a light.

In the EnvironmentFog settings I've set it to only use my Direct light, not the VrayLight.

The VrayLight is set to Invisible in the VrayLight properties, so in my head it should only cast light and show up in reflections, nothing more.

    Anyone has any solution?

If I use a plane with VrayLightMtl instead I can't include only the character.

You can try increasing the subdivs for the environment fog. Another method would be to force it to use the raymarching algorithm - to do that, just assign a texture to one of the colors (it can be a VRayColor texture).

    Best regards,

Thanks, but wouldn't forcing it to use raymarching take ages to render?

With more samples (image samples, haven't tried fog subdivs yet) it's less noticeable, but it would be nice to make it exclude 100%.
