  • Is It Accurate?using white colour as lighting test

    Recently i notice that if i use white colour as a test materials, my final render (materials)will become much darker then it was(understanding that white colour have more light bounce hence brighter), how do i resolve this without too much adjustments to vray lights?im using Gamma 2.2.LWF.or do i use the colour mapping Dark,Light Multiplier to adjust?thanks.appreciate any insight.

    if you want to keep the light used with a white material you have a couple options
    saving the gi solution from white material and reuse it with your materials.
    the other one would be override material for all materials and under gi override drop a white material
    then you could modify it as you want.
    show me the money!!

      thanks for reply, but then the render would not be accurate?also when i use a darker floor or walls the render turns all darker.should i place more lights instead to brighten the area( in this case would the lighting study be accurate?)

        Why not use a darker test material and adjust your lighting for that? You should generally avoid using any brightness values above about 225 in your diffuse colour swatches anyway as they are unrealistic. For interiors especially the materials contribute a great deal to the illumination of a space since bounce light is a much bigger factor. It is normal to have to adjust the lighting once you have applied your materials.

        Your lighting study and your renders are both accurate, they just aren't the same and neither should they be.
