Max 2011, Vray SP 5 - Rendertimes Matte CamMap BG encreased

    ... seems like rendertimes are much higher now in the following environment

    architectural visualization
    foreground car on plane vray properties: matte, shadows, alpha -1, gi on, ...

    BG = CameraMap (VrayCam / BG = texture, screen)
    GI = Irridiance / Lightcache (both read from file)

    the scene rendered much faster with max 2010 Design and Vray SP4

    the problem seems to be the matte surface i guess ... not shure so

    ... i just opened the scene in 3DS Max Design 2011 without any changes

    anybody else with this experience ?

    I don't think there are any changes in this regard at least in V-Ray; can you post the scene or send it to me at vlado@chaosgroup.com?

      fast reply as always. thanks.

      i´ll first do some more internal tests ... go back to sp4 with max 2010 design and compare the times again between:
      max 2010 vray sp4 >>> max 2011 vray sp5. if there is a difference i will go with max 2010 and sp5 ... and see where the difference comes from

      soon as i get the results i´ll post it here ...

        ... after merging the data into a fresh scene everything works fine ... might have been one of the other tools i used ... the onion, onyx trees, etc.
