  • VrayProxy doesn't keep original pivot in max 2011.

I choose the right option on proxy settings to keep the original pivot but it is not working.
But I must say that I have come across strange pivot behavior in 2011 with different situations so this could be a problem with max2011 more than Vray.

Can you give more precise reproduction steps? Works for me on a simple test.

Hm, odd. Can you send me the original chair mesh to vlado@chaosgroup.com to that I can look at it?

        Best regards,
        Vlado

Thanks; it does not seem to be specific to 3ds Max 2011 (it happens in 3ds Max 2010). If you reset the pivot, you will see that it is exactly where V-Ray places it. Anyways, I've made a note to fix it.

The best way around this is to create a sphere (or other new object) and align it to the pivot point of the mesh you want to convert. Then convert the sphere to an editable poly and attach your mesh. Then delete the original sphere. This resets the object pivot point and will export correctly for a vraymesh.

I have noticed this issue as well & I solve it by using the Rest X-FORM utility......I think that's what vlado means by reseting the pivot

Love the reset X-FORM....it's so good at fixing so many problems that it almost fixes your burnt toast in the morning..lol
