  • WIBU/License issue

After installing SP5, I am frequently losing my license while working in scenes.
It is usually solved by removing and re-inserting the dongle, but still causes some painful
crash & near-crash hang times. Is this something with the update or is there something else I should check. This used to happen very rarely, but now it's like 3 or more times within an hour or 2. does not seem to be scene specific...

    Thanks

I had the same problem a while back on max2009 and XPpro 32, license would drop out 2-3 times a day (specially after a long render), I was convinced it was a dodgy dongle, but since I upgraded to WIN7 64 and 2010 everything seems to have been just fine, not happened once yet (touches virtual wood texture).
You might want to try upgrading the WIBU driver from the their web-page, this was suggested by Vlado and I believe that also made a BIG difference.

There are no changes for the licensing in SP5 at all; we only included updated WIBU drivers - did you install them?

      Best regards,

        thanks ior=0

Actually, I do have the most recent driver.
I don't know what it was caused by, but it has not been happening anymore since that one day...maybe it's just because windows blows...
