  • Streaks in displaced ceiling tiles

I'm having an odd problem using a procedural tile texture as a displacement map on a ceiling. I'm getting some odd streaks appearing around some of the tiles. Any ideas what these could be. The displacement is 3d type (could probably be 2D but this is just how I've inherited the setup), and the streaks disappear once the displacement is turned off:

    Any ideas?

Wow, nightmare on elm street - almost cleaned off again...

Looks like it's affecting only these two rows on the left. Did you check for double uvw-mapping? What do you get with bump map only?

    Best,
    Fritz

It looks like a problem with long skinny triangles in the ceiling mesh. How did you make your ceiling?

If it's an extruded spline try changing the extrude capping for morph to grid.

I had wondered about long thin triangles. Its an inherited file-linked model from Autocad. I will try a subdivide modifier and see if that clears things up.
