  • Vray license server hanging

    Hi,

Since recently, with lot of jobs in BBqueue and around 20 machines rendering, I have several times a week a problem with vray license server not giving access to max.
    Problem :
    Renderer server stop rendering
Production max hang on opening medit or render setup

On the vray license server machine :
the VRLService.EXE process takes 50% process time (it is a dualcore, so I guess 100% of one core)

Then, I have to kill vrlservice process, restart it, and check in wibu driver that it get it. Then, all goes fine, everyone working and rendering fine, with vrlservice at 0%

    A few informations :

    WkSvW32.exe - WIBU-KEY WkLAN/WkNet Network Server.
    Version 5.20 of 2006-Nov-22 (Build 4) for Win32

Used WkLAN server name: demeter - port: 22347.
Used IP address: default IP address.
    ### WkLAN server is active.
General WkLAN timeout set to 1440 minutes.
    ### 0 WkNet processes started

A few lines of log, but without problem now
5.13 14:55:52:348 Logon received from "ServerManagement" at demeter.
5.13 14:55:52:348 Connected as L00034, no slot allocated.
5.13 14:55:52:364 Connection L00034 ("ServerManagement" at demeter) closed.
5.13 14:57:38:472 Logon received from "ServerManagement" at demeter.
5.13 14:57:38:472 Connected as L00035, no slot allocated.

    VRLService.EXE
    1.0.0.1

The machine which run vrlservice have only that to do with max BB manager, and is a Core2Duo/2Gb ram, windows server.

Any help would ... help !

We have an updated version of the license server; please email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com to get it - hopefully it will solve the problem.

      Hi Vlado, I've emailed you.

It seems it comes when we kill some max process, the vrlservice doesn't free the licence then, and few minutes later it hangs at 100%process time :/ Today I've maybe restart it 20 times, a real pain ...

You can also send your email to vlado_nk@yahoo.com as we seem to have some problems with the email server; sorry about that.

        Best regards,
        Vlado
